ANGELS DONATION CENTER IN FLOYD MUST PAUSE ACCEPTING CLOTHING DONATIONS FOR AWHILE. SORRY.

All other items can be accepted at the Angels Donation Center on Needmore Lane in Floyd.

The clothing donations which must be paused includes those for men, women, and children.

The reason for this pause is a severe lack of volunteers at the Donation Center, which has resulted in a huge stack of clothing backed up waiting to be sorted. Clothing takes way more sorting time than any other donations, so it consumes the most volunteer time of the helpers at the Donation Center. Sorting furniture, pottery, lamps, tools, and everything else takes much less time so those can continue to be handled by the current volunteer staff.

Volunteers are welcome if they can show up as little as 2 hours per week. Or only part of one day per week. Or even on days that may vary from week to week. Or on one day per month. We are flexible. This severe lack of volunteers is mainly caused by all the disruptions of the pandemic, and the current disruptions in Floyd County as it is slowly coming out of the epidemic. This would be a great opportunity for young people now out of school to participate in community service!

If you would like to volunteer, you can do one of these things: 1. Stop by the Angels Donation Center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Fridays between 9AM and 2PM. Please knock on the door and be patient to get the attention of the volunteers. 2. Email Angels at  angelsfloydinfo@gmail.com or 3. Stop by the Angels in the Attic Store in downtown Floyd and ask for the manager, or 4. Use Messenger on Angels Facebook Page.

The sole location for dropping off donations of all kinds, and for the Angels Furniture Store, is 112 Needmore Lane, Floyd, VA, which is located on the corner of Route 8 and Needmore Lane next door to the Harvest Moon Food Store. Donations can be dropped off 24 hours a day, every day. Most donations can be placed inside the minibarn storage building in the paved upper driveway. If left outside, the weather is most likely to damage them. Furniture donations can be placed on the concrete pad (under the overhang of the large building) located at the end of the lower gravel driveway which is just below the house, but it is preferred you do so during open hours of the Furniture Store on Fridays and Saturdays 9AM-2PM. By the way, the locations of the Stores in the town of Floyd are not set up to handle donations.
