HAVE YOU ALWAYS HAD A SECRET DESIRE TO PLAY GERSHWIN’S ARRANGEMENT “I’VE GOT RHYTHM” FOR 4 PIANOS OR BACH’S CONCERTO FOR 4 PIANOS? NOW IS YOUR CHANCE. FOUR PIANOS ARE FOR IMMEDIATE SALE AT ANGELS FURNITURE STORE.
The prices range from only $40 to $50. They are all functional, but would likely benefit from tuning.

If you have 3 other pianist friends, perhaps we can arrange for all to simultaneously play on them at the Angels Furniture Store which is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9am – 2pm. The Angels Furniture Store operates more hours and days than the Angels in the Attic Store because the Angels Donation Center is staffed with volunteers next door at 112 Needmore Lane in Floyd Virginia at the intersection of Hwy 8, and is at the edge of town.

BACK TO THE FUTURE: 1955. A GREAT GIFT FOR SOMEONE WHO GRADUATED IN ENGINEERING PRIOR TO POCKET CALCULATORS (FIRST AVAILABLE IN EARLY 1970’s)?
This K&E Keuffel and Esser slide rule is a very rare find, what with its being in top condition, plus comes with an original manual, plus the leather carrying case which would fasten to a student’s belt, and even the classy green box it came in at the university store.

This particular model is a Dual Base Log Log Decitrig, which was the high end model suitable for a course in electrical engineering. A competitive model was made by Pickett.

This one pictured is available at the Angels Boutique in downtown Floyd VA for only $45. Check eBay for comparable instruments costing around $325.

Despite its age and obsolescence, many computations, even today, could be done faster than someone punching buttons on a scientific pocket calculator. Its accuracy was good enough to put a man on the moon. For example, it was good enough to calculate the center of gravity for mechanical parts that made up the Apollo space capsule – I saw it being done.

UH OH! IT IS BACK TO SCHOOL PLANNING TIME SO SOON! DIDN’T SCHOOL END ONLY A WEEK OR TWO AGO? HALF PRICE SALE ON CHILDREN’S CLOTHING.
If you are thinking ahead to August, and you are a parent, the first thing that comes to mind is the beginning of school. As you think about your children’s clothes for that first day (can it be August 13 only a month away?), you’ll be happy to hear about the sale at Angels in the Attic store..

Beginning Saturday July 6, and running through the month of July, all children’s clothing will be half price. That means shorts, tees, skirts, tops, and jeans will be only a quarter. Girls’ dresses will be only three quarters. If you have several school age children, this sale will save you lots and lots of dollars compared to any other place!

We appreciate all the volunteers at Angels in the Attic, the Angels Boutique, and the Angels Furniture Store. But special thanks this week go to our extensive crew of volunteers who work at the Angels Donation Center. This is the hub of our stores, where donations are received, sorted, labeled, sorted and either boxed up for the future or transported to one of the store locations. It is an ongoing and never-ending task keeping up with the daily donations that goes on even while the stores are closed. So we say thank you to those behind-the-scenes volunteers who work hard at the Angels Donation Center.

ANTIQUE PENDULUM WALL CLOCK NOW AVAILABLE AT ANGELS BOUTIQUE
This clock is working. A quick lookup on the web showed its value may be $1000, but check for yourself. We have priced it at what we believe to be a great bargain at $350, and as with all Angels stores, the funds go for charitable purposes after expenses for utilities, maintenance etc.

In case the counter person has stepped out, you can always stroll next door to Angels in the Attic and ask one of them to show you this special clock.

You can check our website for the normal open hours of any of the stores operated by Angels. www.angelsintheattic.org

Antique dealers from Roanoke, Christiansburg, and elsewhere are welcome to our stores in downtown Floyd VA, near the stoplight and next door to the famous Floyd Country Store.

Many thanks to the person who donated this precious clock to Angels in the Attic. Angels is a non-profit charitable organization operated primarily by volunteers.
