ANGELS DONATION CENTER HAS A HOLIDAY SHUTDOWN DECEMBER 22, 2021 TILL JANUARY 3, 2022

Please drop off all donations for Angels in the Attic in the mini-barn or at the Angels Furniture Store by Tuesday December 21, 2021. Please hold off all new donations until Tuesday January 4, 2022 when the volunteers return from a much deserved break.

This holiday shutdown also applies to the Angels Furniture Store.

Do NOT drop off anything outside, especially at the Angels Furniture Store, during this shutdown period, because wind-driven rain will likely damage your valued donations.

We thank you for your patience during this time.  By January 4, you will have all your presents opened, and the items they replaced can be boxed and ready to drive over to the Donation Center – the surplus toys, clothing, kitchenware, furniture, and tools.

Angels Furniture Store hours and days :

Tuesdays 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Fridays     9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Saturdays 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.

The sole location for dropping off donations of all kinds, including the Angels Furniture Store, is 112 Needmore Lane, Floyd, VA, which is located on the corner of Route 8 and Needmore Lane next door to the Harvest Moon Food Store. Donations can be dropped off 24 hours a day, every day. Most donations can be placed inside the minibarn storage building in the paved upper driveway. If left outside, the weather is most likely to damage them. Furniture donations can be placed on the concrete pad (under the overhang of the large building) located at the end of the lower gravel driveway which is just below the house, but it is preferred you do so during open hours in case of weather fronts.

ANGELS CHRISTMAS STORE RE-OPENS FOR THE SEASON ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 15 2021

Open Hours: Fridays and Saturdays 9AM-5PM

Location: The Christmas Store is located on E Main St in Floyd VA (no mailing address), in the former Odd Fellows Lodge next door to the former building of The Floyd Press (which is at 710 E. Main St in case you are using GPS on your cellphone or auto), on the opposite side of the street from the CVS Floyd Pharmacy.

We had hoped to also be open Tuesdays, like past years, but logistics issues have delayed that. Keep watching for possible updates.

In past years, there have been a limited number of artificial trees, some pre-decorated, so come early in the season if you are seeking one.

ANGELS IN THE ATTIC RE-OPENS TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 28. BIG SUMMER CLOTHING SALE – A BAG FULL IS REDUCED TO $1

Last chance to buy summer clothes at a super bargain price. Since we are going to remove all leftover summer clothes on Wednesday Sept 29, to replace them with winter clothing, the volunteers do not look forward to removing, packing, and moving any leftovers – save them a lot of work by buying bags and bags to take home. There is still a lot of warm weather ahead.

As for a bag size, we are talking the size of plastic grocery bags common at Food Lion and Slaughters. Not a 28 gallon trash bag (just to clarify).
You may use several grocery-sized bags, and each one is still only $1. We will be pleased to run totally out of stock of summer clothing by the end of the day on Tuesday. Saves us a lot of work.
Angels in the Attic hours and days of operation:
Tuesdays – 9:00 am to 1:00 pm starting August 3, 2021
Fridays – 9:00 am to 6:00 pm April until Christmas and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm January through March

ANGELS IN THE ATTIC STORE CLOSED THIS WEEK, REOPENS TUESDAY SEPT 28, 2021

The Angels in the Attic Store will not be open Tuesday Sept 21, nor this Friday or Saturday, but will reopen with its normal hours and days on Tuesday Sept 28.

The Angels Boutique will be closed only for this Tuesday, but will reopen the other days this week.

The Angels Furniture Store is not affected and will be open for its normal hours, also the Angels Donation Center minibarn is always open to drop off donations.

The reason for this temporary closure is that one individual in the non-public backroom area operations tested positive, and this action is taken due to an abundance of caution. This means there is no reason for recent Attic Store customers to be concerned. The backroom activity is essential for everyday operations of the Attic Store.

The normal days and hours for the Angels locations is as follows:

Angels in the Attic hours and days of operation:

Tuesdays – 9:00 am to 1:00 pm starting August 3, 2021

Fridays – 9:00 am to 6:00 pm April until Christmas and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm January through March

Saturdays – 9:00am to 2:00pm

Angels Boutique hours and days of operation:

Tuesdays – 10:00 am to 1:00 pm

Fridays – 10:00 am to 6:00 pm April until Christmas and 10:00am to 4:00pm January through March

Saturdays– 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Angels Donation Center and Angels Furniture Store hours and days of operation:

The Donation Center is always open to drop off donations inside the minibarn, 7 days a week. Please do not leave donations outside in the weather. For furniture donations, take to the lower driveway and place on the concrete pad beneath the overhang for protection from the weather.

FURNITURE STORE:

Tuesdays 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

SPONTANEOUS MODELING OPPORTUNITY

When we got together with some friends a few days ago, the lady of the house complimented one of them on the full length sweater she was wearing, and how well it went with her entire outfit.

Caroline responded, “Well, Thank You! I actually purchased it at the Angels in the Attic Thrift  Store!” Then she looked down and commented, “Oh… And so did this top… and… the pants too!” The guy of the house happened to be the Media Volunteer for Angels and opined “This would make a great post on the Angels Website and Angels Facebook pages.” After a pause, she said, “Oh, okay, let’s do it.”

So here is one of the photos that were taken.

SUMMER CLOTHING SALES EVENTS HAPPENING IN SEPTEMBER 2021 IN ANGELS IN THE ATTIC STORE

Summer clothes are marked down to half price (50% off) right now (Tuesday September 7) through the end of the day Saturday September 18.

Starting Tuesday morning September 21, the remaining summer clothes in stock at Angels in the Attic Store, which you can stuff into one grocery plastic bag (like Food Lion size) is reduced further to $2 for the whole bag. YES! Not a typo.

On Sept 29, a Wednesday, the Attic is going to going to remove all summer clothing and put back into storage, then will only have in stock winter clothes on the morning of Friday Oct 1. So that would mean the last day to buy summer clothes is Tuesday Sept 28. Gone after that.

The photos below are examples, and are not in stock currently.

Angels in the Attic is a nonprofit thrift store in downtown Floyd VA, operated almost entirely by volunteers, where the proceeds, after expenses, goes to local charitable causes.

ANGELS BOUTIQUE SUMMER SIDEWALK BLOW-OUT SALE

Mark your calendars for Saturday August 21 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm for this rare annual event.

The Angels Boutique’s “Summer Sidewalk Blow-out Sale” is set for Saturday, August 21st, 2021, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, both outside and inside the store. The Angels Boutique is located at 210 South Locust Street in Floyd VA, next door to the Angels in the Attic Store.

Our already everyday bargain prices will be further sharply reduced on such things as: upscale purses, summer clothing, cameras & related items; vintage & other glassware items; stylish paintings; vintage books & records; sets of china; vintage cigar boxes; classy hats, dressy gloves, shoes, and many other treasures for you to keep or to give to a friend for “a gift that gives twice.”

The Angels Boutique is part of the Floyd County Angels Ministry, a 501c3 non-profit (almost entirely operated and managed by community volunteers), selling donated goods, which in turn provide ongoing monthly support to numerous Floyd County charitable organizations. The funds raised on Saturday will help feed the hungry, aid the needy, and help children and the elderly.
