LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEER TO BUILD A REPLACEMENT ANGEL FOR ANGELS BOUTIQUE
Sadly, the current wooden angel has done well for us over the years, but now is old, cracking and loosening because of the elements, and a replacement is needed, a duplicate in size and shape, but with some upgrades based on the experience with this one.
Please send a message if you are a volunteer with the skills and equipment to perform this woodworking.
The plywood needs to be pressure treated. The sections need to be both glued and fastened with screws, rather than nails, for more sturdiness.
Some sheet metal, or metal strips, is needed on the bottom so it can be pulled more easily by the volunteer ladies.
Some method of pulling it out of the store during open hours is needed (currently it is a rope with handle).
The wood edges need to be smoothed so as not to catch on clothing or hands.
A donor has come forward to pay for the plywood, and a painter and letterer has been located to reproduce the appearance.
