THE ANGELS FURNITURE STORE IN THE NEW BUILDING AT THE ANGELS DONATION CENTER ON NEEDMORE LANE IS NOW OPEN !!!!!

NO LUCK ON TRUCK. HOW ABOUT A VAN?
Angels Donation Center has received no response on a need for a donated pickup truck, so we will try option #2. We could get by with a van – like an Econoline van, not a passenger van. The purpose is to transport donations to the stores. So, it will be packed with boxes, containers, picture frames, books, clothing, and furniture. Due to traveling a very short distance a few times a week, it can be a gas hog, it does not need to look pretty, and Angels has a mechanic friend who has volunteered to do some repairs if necessary. Please contact Priscilla at the Angels Donation Center during their open hours Mon-Wed 8am-2pm or Fridays 8am-noon. Or, or call her cell phone at two three nine nine eight eight nine.
Below is an example of the type of vehicle being sought. It can have a popup top, it can have windows, The larger it is, the more it can hold, and the fewer trips. The vehicle will be loaded at the Donation Center over a couple days, then taken to the Store. The unloading takes a few hours depending on the availability of volunteers.

FINE CHINA SETTINGS FOR 10 AT ANGELS BOUTIQUE
Place settings for a gathering of 10, a lovely 70 piece set of Habsburg fine china dishes, vintage, made in Austria. If you are unsure whether this is a fantastically low price, go take a look at eBay listings of this pattern (we did). Priced at $70 for the entire set. That is only $7 per person at the table. I doubt you can find a plastic set for that low price.
Stop by for a look, we are next door to the Angels in the Attic Store, adjacent to the Floyd Country Store.

ANGELS DONATION CENTER FURNITURE SALES BUILDING CLOSE TO OPENING
The new furniture donation center building for drop-off and sales of furniture is getting close to opening. The contractors are still working on removing dirt and debris from the future parking area, also on finishing the driveway, and in addition on spreading the topsoil back to its new positions. There will be an announcement of the grand opening.
Because furniture has been jammed into an old house, and into various other locations pending the building completion, when it all was moved into the new building a few days ago, it completely filled all the space. There are now aisles so that all items can be viewed, and easily taken to the dock when purchased.
Although the store is not open yet, if there are people who have an immediate need (due to damage to their possessions, or moving into a new location), you may stop by the drop off shed on the upper driveway and ask one of the volunteers for a safe escorted viewing.
The Angels Donation Center is located at the intersection of Highway 8 and Needmore lane, and is open M, T, W 8am-2pm and on Fridays closes at noon. However, you can drop off donations at any time in the shed (please do not leave any items outside in the weather). We cannot accept TVs, mattresses, chemicals, or child car seats, for health and safety reasons. Furniture donations can be handled in a few days when the grand opening occurs.

NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY BACK-TO-SCHOOL CLOTHING
Here are photos of the Angels in the Attic Store price lists. One is for clothing for elementary school children (up to size 20). Otherwise, use the Men and Women’s price list for students above size 20. You can outfit all of your children who are students for a tiny fraction of the cost at department stores in Christiansburg.

A NEED FOR A PICKUP TRUCK – DONATION SOUGHT
The Angels Donation Center at 112 Needmore Lane needs a pickup truck to haul tall items locally, that do not fit into the current van. The pickup can be a gas hog, and it does not have to look pretty, since it will be used only for short trips a few days a week locally around Floyd. It needs to be safe (good brakes), and the drivers seat needs to be able to adjust for the lady drivers. You may stop by to discuss this with Priscilla on Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri between 8am-2pm at the Angels Donation Center, or call her cell at two three nine, nine eight eight nine.
Since Angels in the Attic is a charitable organization, you may be able to claim an income tax deduction for the value of the truck.

VOLUNTEERS AT THE ANGELS DONATION CENTER HAPPY FOR THE EXPANDED GARAGE WITH ITS SUMMER AIR CONDITIONING AND WINTER HEATING. MORE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.
The garage area at the Angels Donation Center at 112 Needmore Lane in Floyd has been expanded to the rear with additional space, which is now completed, and occupied. It has excellent lighting, and ample space for volunteers to do their tasks (there will be more space when the temporary storage of some furniture ends soon).
If you were a volunteer in the past, and were too hot, or too cold, or too crowded, please stop by and look at the amazing improvements to the intake and sorting area.
Volunteers have a wide range of tasks to choose from, to fit their interests (books, clothing, furniture, toys, baby items, and more). They can choose their hours and days (of course, during the open hours which are Mon, Tues, Wed, and Fri 8 AM-2 PM). Please stop by during open hours to see for yourself if it is a good fit for you.
Angels in the Attic is a charitable non-profit organization which serves Floyd Couny in many ways.

BICYCLE REPAIR VOLUNTEER NEEDED AT THE ANGELS DONATION CENTER
There are several bicycles at the Angels Donation Center at 112 Needmore Lane in Floyd that are in need of repair. It may be necessary to cannibalize some bikes in order to get others into working and safe condition. If you have some experience in fixing bikes, and have your own tools, please contact Priscilla at the Angels Donation Center on Mon, Tue, Wed, or Fri during open hours 8 AM to 2 PM, or call her at two-three-nine nine eight eight nine.

NEW BUILDING FOR FURNITURE AT ANGELS DONATION CENTER OPENING SOON
The new building at 112 Needmore Lane in Floyd is nearing completion and there will be an announcement when the dock is ready for receiving donated furniture, and when the furniture is ready for viewing for sale.
Currently, there have been no furniture sales for awhile. Furniture has been tucked away here and there, stacked to the ceiling on top of one another, and gathering dust while awaiting the completion of new construction. The furniture will need to be moved from the current locations into the new building, then placed into aisles so that visitors can look at all the furniture, and finally all the furniture needs to be dusted and cleaned.
As for the status today, take a look at the photos. The future parking area is that pile of dirt and stumps. The building is still being worked on. The driveway is ready only for construction vehicles. The interior is spacious, but there is so much of a backlog of furniture, it may be filled by opening day.
The many volunteers who work at the Donation Center are anxiously awaiting the move of furniture into the new building, as some of their current workspace has to be shared with stored furniture, thus hampering their activities.
Those customers who need to purchase furniture have also been inquiring when they can buy it for their apartment or house. Today I had a tour of the current storage areas, and there are sofas, desks, cabinets, doors, door frames, wood and metal beds, upholstered and wooden chairs, an antique steamer trunk with coat hangers and drawers, stereo cabinet, dining table, and a whole bunch of others that could not be seen due to every cubic foot taken up by furniture of all kinds.
