Spooktacular Halloween Buys in the Attic

Costumes ranging from the scary to the cutest, trick or treat pails and baskets, decorations and ideas. Sizes range from adult to toddlers in the costumes. Priced from 50 cents to $2.00. This is a much better alternative than paying 10 times as much for a new store item, to use for only one evening then put away. Also, think of how the regular clothing in the store could be creatively used to make costumes – cowboy jeans or fancy dresses.

Custom Aprons Made Locally

Need an apron? We have specialty aprons made by one of our volunteers in different sizes and fabrics that are being sold with proceeds going to our building fund. Take a look at your current apron and check what condition it is in, if a visitor arrives unexpectedly.

Our Boutique is filled with wonderful fall clothing, glassware, china, specialty items, jewelry and gift ideas. Seeing is believing! Get a head start on shopping needs for the holidays for your family and friends. For example, this sailor doll which is priced at $15.

This very large art piece (over 4 ft tall) is available in the Angels in the Attic store for only $10.00 (Ten Dollars). There are two more similar sized ones in the frame room that might be part of a matched set, you would need to check the price and inspect them.  Look at the photo of the description affixed to the back of the art for details.  It says it is handpainted gouache (whatever that is), so it seems to me like this could potentially be a hidden treasure.  Do you have an office or business with large blank walls, or a house with a large blank wall?

Angel now on a Cloud at Boutique

The angel that the Boutique volunteers sets out near the sidewalk during open hours has been updated.  She now stands on a cloud which prevents toppling over in a wind.

Also, the angel has been outfitted with a pull rope.  The ladies at the Boutique reported they were having difficulties moving it in and out.  So, a pull rope with snap rings attaches to eyelets, and with the plastic white “cloud”, it slides very easily.

Help us find a location for our Christmas Store

Angels in the Attic is seeking a temporary location for their annual Christmas Store.  Does someone know a representative of the Rebekah’s in Floyd, who we can make contact with, regarding the possible use of their facility?

Or, we would appreciate a lead to any facility in Floyd that Angels could use from mid-October till about December 19. Then an Angel’s person would make contact to work out the details of such an arrangement.

The winner of Angels in the Attic’s recent raffle of a crazy quilt was Nolan Webb of Floyd.  He said, “The quilt was beautiful! I never saw so many different stitches.  The date July 20, 1980, was embroidered on it.”  Mr. Webb is a regular customer at Angels.  He added, “I think what Angels does to help the people of Floyd is wonderful.”

New Items Added to the Furniture For Sale Section at Angels Donation Center

If you are interested in any of these items, go to the Donation Center on Needmore Lane at the intersection of Highway 8 on any Wednesday to inspect the items or to make a purchase.

1. Piano.  It sounds pretty good as is.  The price is FREE, but you can still bargain if you wish, and you must provide the truck and the helpers.

2. Hospital Bed.  Come and take a look if you are seeking one.  Ask our volunteers there for the price.

3. Light Fixtures.  Suddenly, there are a bunch of light fixtures available.  Browse and find the ones that fit your home.
