INVENTORY SEARCHED FOR ITEMS WITH LOCAL SHORTAGES
Angels in the Attic has examined all of its locations for items that might have been donated, which are now in short supply in Floyd County, with an intention to donate them to local charitable organizations who have the capability to distribute them. The obvious items searched for included toilet paper, masks, diapers, and paper towels. Some material for masks was located, but is now depleted. We wish there had been more items somewhere in inventory. We assisted one person urgently needing mobility medical equipment. We thank our volunteers for assisting in this search effort.
VOLUNTEERS AT ANGELS IN THE ATTIC INCLUDE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND AROUND 80 STAFF
The official name is Floyd County Angels Ministries, Inc.
The Board of Directors include these volunteers:
Jim Shortt, Chairman of the Board
Will Griffin CPA
Mauyer Gallimore
Sandra Shank
Connie Quesenberry
Bill Gardner
Rhonda Daiber, Volunteer Manager of Angels Boutique
The Board of Directors has the typical duties of a board, setting policy, approving expenditures, and approving the donations of funds and materials to local area charitable organizations
ALL ANGELS IN THE ATTIC STORES PLUS THE DONATION CENTER ARE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS COVID-19
…..The staff has reviewed its inventory in all locations to determine if there might be any previously donated items useful to medical clinics, nursing homes, or individuals during this crisis. The kinds of items considered were surgical masks or woodworking masks, scrubs, disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, depends or similar medical items that might be in short supply, and we were disappointed to find there were none…….We do carry crutches and walkers at times, but there is no current need for them, of which we are aware……..
This includes the Angels Donation Center and its minibarn, because the minibarn has limited space and ordinarily it must be emptied 4 times per week to make space for continuing donations, which is no longer possible.
The Angels Furniture Store is closed
The Angels in the Attic Store is closed
The Angels Boutique is closed
The Angels Donation Center minibarn is closed
We were reluctant to close down these facilities because we are aware that many people depend on them, however, most of the Angels volunteers are seniors who are at much higher risk from the effects of coronavirus Covid-19.
We will be re-evaluating our status weekly, so please continue to access the Angels Facebook page, as well as the Angels in the Attic website www.angelsintheattic.org
For all of you, we wish you stay well during this crisis.

ANGELS DONATION CENTER and ANGELS FURNITURE STORE hours and days of operation:
The Angels Donation Center is always open, around the clock, to drop off donations inside the minibarn, 7 days a week. Please do not leave donations outside because they will be ruined by the weather. For furniture donations, take to the lower driveway and place on the concrete pad beneath the overhang for protection from the weather. The sole location for dropping off donations of all kinds, and for the Angels Furniture Store, is 112 Needmore Lane, Floyd, VA, which is located on the corner of Route 8 and Needmore Lane next door to the Harvest Moon Food Store
For ANGELS FURNITURE STORE purchases, please pay first prior to pickup, and the following open hours apply: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 9 am to 2 pm. Closed Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays. It is best if you drop off large items (such as furniture) during the Furniture Store open hours so they can be taken into the building out of the weather, and the Furniture Store is located at the second driveway of the house where the Angels Donation minibarn is situated.
ITEMS ARE FLYING OFF THE SHELVES AT ANGEL’S FOUR STORES
Angels in the Attic
Angels Boutique
Angels Christmas Store
Angels Furniture Store
The volunteers have been too busy tending to customers to take photos and write up about available items, and in any case with items selling quickly, they may be gone by the time a shopper shows up.
So, the only solution for the Holidays is to go to each store to examine what is in stock at that moment, and make your purchases. For the hours and days that each store is open (and they each have different hours and days), go to the website angelsintheattic.org
CENTRAL PNEUMATIC OIL EXTRACTOR 6 1/2 GALLON
You can find this oil pump at the Angels Furniture Store on Needmore Lane. New, this extractor retails for $484. The price on this is only $200. The label indicates it is used for vehicles like tractors, dozers, trucks, and similar ones. From the photo, it looks nearly new, but come on in and take a look.
Hours and days for the Angels Furniture Store are Tue, Wed, Fri, and Sat from 9am-2pm.

ANGELS CHRISTMAS STORE OPENS SOON
We open the Christmas Store on October 18th, 2019. Open days are Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays 9AM to 5PM (including yes, will ill be open the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving).
The volunteers have been saving holiday donations since the day after Christmas last year, in anticipation of the 2019 grand opening. As a result, the store is chucked full of treasures and we use every square inch of the space – you can help out by stopping by and buying some of the goodies at bargain prices.
The Angels Christmas Store is located on E Main St in Floyd VA, in the former Odd Fellows Lodge (no mailing address) next door to the building of The Floyd Press (which is 710 E. Main St if you use your auto’s or cellphone GPS), on the opposite side of the street from the CVS Floyd Pharmacy and near the US Post Office.
FINANCIAL RESULTS FROM THE WHOLE YEAR OF 2018 NOW AVAILABLE FOR ANGELS IN THE ATTIC
These results were announced at the annual meeting of the volunteers earlier this year, but they are now published along with a pie chart graphic to displaying detail where the sales proceeds after expenses went to local charitable organizations. A copy will also be posted on the web site, and at each of the five Angels facilities: Angels Donation Center, Angels Furniture Store, Angels in the Attic Store, Angels Boutique, and the Angels Christmas Store.
The Angels Ministry Inc (the parent organization’s name) believes in full disclosure about its activities. Proceeds of Sales income, after expenses, were distributed to 10 local charitable organizations by the agreement of the Angels Board of Directors. The amount distributed was a remarkable 68% of sales income.
