FEATURED IN THE ANGELS IN THE ATTIC STORE THIS WEEK ARE: ATHLETIC WEAR, LOTS OF YARN, MEDICAL SCRUBS, AND PARTY ITEMS
– If you are thinking about spring (and who isn’t!) and getting in shape again, we have lots of athletic wear at The Attic Store. You may find just what you need for your workout.
– If you knit or crochet or do crafts, you will find three big tubs-full of yarn of all colors in the fabric section. It is located in the front room.
– Remember, scrubs are always $1.00, tops or bottoms. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, it is a hygienic outfit used by those in the medical profession. These run about $25 a set if bought new, but Angels is pleased to give our caretakers a big break.
We have a small area of party items in the front room. In it you may find: wrapping paper, gift bags, party hats, confetti, and number candles for a birthday cake. All items are 25¢ and up.
– In regards to The Angels Furniture Store, please be aware that we can only accept working appliances (stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, etc.). Your cooperation is appreciated. No one wants to purchase a non-working appliance, and we do not have the technicians with the skill to fix them, nor the parts. The store that sells you a new one will usually take a non-working one away. Otherwise, take them to the Transfer Station.
– If you have friends who do not use Facebook or websites, they can still keep up with the news from Angels by referring to The Floyd Press, in section B, in a column titled “The Thrifty Angel”.

FABRIC AND LAMPS GO TOGETHER! A LARGE SUPPLY OF FABRICS NOW AVAILABLE AT ANGELS IN THE ATTIC STORE, ALONG WITH A LARGE SUPPLY OF LAMPS FOR LIGHTING UP YOUR CRAFTS WORK. NO MORE SQUINTING. THE PRICES ARE ALWAYS VERY LOW.
Our fabric department is overflowing! If you are looking for a project, and you like to sew, check us out. We have solids and prints, which include cottons, wools, linens, some silk, and some upholstery material.

We also have an abundance of lamps at the moment. They are in the front room. One of them might be just what you are looking for.

At this time, we have an abundance of dishes. Our prices are so low that they can be competitive with paper products for your party. Some customers in the past have bought extra plates for a big party, then re-donated them back to Angels! Think of the Attic if someone you know is having a big party or setting up house-keeping.

Since this article is turned in four days before publication, we can never guarantee that items mentioned here will still be available. As of this writing, we have many small appliances at the Attic. A few of the items I noticed are: an electric griddle, several toaster ovens, a regular toaster, a rotisserie, a coffeemaker, and a crockpot. Come in and browse.

Read The Floyd Press each issue for an article in section B about the happenings at the Angels in the Attic. So if your internet and cellphone fail, you can keep up with the news.

VOLUNTEERS APPRECIATED; VOLUNTEERS NEEDED; CURIOUS THINGS FOUND IN ATTIC STORE.
We sometimes forget that without volunteers, Angels in the Attic, the Angels Furniture Store, the Angels Donation Center, and the Boutique could not function. Our volunteers always deserve a huge “thank you” and a pat on the back. We’d especially like to thank those volunteers who worked so faithfully at The Christmas Store for three months last fall.

Volunteers, as you know, come and go; we acquire some, and we lose some. Currently, we are in need of volunteers Wednesdays and Fridays at The Donation Center and the Furniture Store. If interested, contact Gennell at the Angels in the Attic Store during store hours.

As with most thrift stores, you never know what you will find. We always have lots of clothing, shoes, dishes, CDs, DVDs, and kitchen-ware. However, here are some interesting things we came across last week:
*2 irons, $2.00 each; *a brass and glass chandelier, $5.00; *a chafing dish, $2.00; *a glass Corningware 9” x 12” baking dish in good condition, $5.00;* a heavy, lovely, angled glass vase, $1.50; *2 glass carafes @ 25¢ each (in case the one for your coffee-maker gets broken!).

It should also be mentioned that we have piles of pocketbooks and purses. If you are willing to search and dig around a bit, you will probably find just what you are seeking. They are only $2.00 each.

LOOKING BACK AT 2018, A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE DONORS WHO DROPPED OFF ITEMS AT THE ANGELS DONATION CENTER, OR WHO DONATED OTHER ITEMS SUCH AS AN AUTO, A HOUSE-FULL OF FURNITURE, OR PROPERTY, OR A CHECK. ALSO A HUG AND THANKS TO THOSE MANY VOLUNTEERS WHO DONATED THEIR PRECIOUS TIME.

As we begin the year 2019, we would like to thank all our customers for making purchases, also to our friends for their generous and wonderful donations throughout the past year. If not for your excellent contributions, Angels in the Attic. the Boutique, the Furniture Store, and the Christmas Store, would not exist.

And speaking of donations, Floyd people have gifted us with piles of merchandise over the holidays, and new items are continuing to arrive daily. Therefore, we are well stocked at all our stores, so do pay a visit to The Attic, The Boutique, and The Furniture Store.

Spice up your collection of DVD movies with some new ones from our large selection at The Attic. They are only $1.00. Remember, you can always save money by shopping at all the Angels stores!

NEW DOOR ENTRY/EXIT AT ANGELS FURNITURE STORE NEXT TO THE ROLL-UP DOOR
We have a new door installed at the front of the Angels Furniture Store, located just to the right of the roll-up door. It should help to keep out the cold air in winter which chattered with cold the teeth of the volunteers, and the hot air in summer. Up until now, the roll-up door was the only way for visitors to enter, and when the first volunteer arrived in the morning, they had to walk through an uphill grass and dirt area (sometimes in heavy rain) to reach the side door in order to open up (and the reverse for the last volunteer to close up).

When you stop by to look at the new door, be sure to check out our supply of exercise equipment there. Make those New Year’s resolutions a reality!

At the Angels in the Attic Store, we have stacks and stacks of DVD movies (only $1.00 – way l
ess than renting). We have lots of jigsaw puzzles and games, ranging in price from 50¢ to $2.00. Keep some of these items handy for cold weather entertainment, or buy them as gifts.

In the shoe section, black seems to be the color of the season. We have black boots ($3.00), black flats, and black heels ($2.00). Just outside the shoe room you will find an abundance of pocketbooks and purses ($2.00).

The Attic, Boutique, Furniture, and Donation Center will be closed from December 23 through January 3, 2019. They will reopen Friday, January 4, 2019. ONLY A VERY FEW SHOPPING DAYS LEFT.

Correction for Christmas Store: It will be open through Saturday, December 22nd, then closed until next fall.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING: TOYS, BOOKS, DECORATIONS, FLEECE JACKETS, JEWELRY. OTHER THAN CHRISTMAS SHOPPING, STOP IN AND LOOK OVER OUR WIDE SELECTION OF WARM CLOTHING AND KITCHENWARE

Angels in the Attic is the place to start (and finish?) your Christmas shopping. We believe we have the best deals in town!

For example, check out the toy department, which is constantly restocked. Our toys range in price from 25¢ to $1.00.

We have been removing, refurbishing, and renewing our selection of books. Check out the new supply of reading material at very, very, low prices. Books are organized by topic such as children, novels, non-fiction, religious.

In the adjacent Angels Boutique, sneak a look there for high quality Christmas decorations, and for those on your gift list, a selection of jewelry, wall hangings, lamps, and pottery.

Please note: The Angels Christmas Store located next to The Floyd Press building will be closing in only 18 days after Friday, December 21, and then closed until next fall’s season. Angels in the Attic, Angels Boutique, the Donation Center, and the Furniture Store will be closed December 23-January 3, and will reopen Friday, January 4, 2019.
