ANGELS BOUTIQUE NEEDS THREE PART-TIME HELPERS
What’s Up in the Attic mid-June 2016
MULTIPLE ITEMS AT MULTIPLE ANGELS IN THE ATTIC LOCATIONS. WALKERS, TRACTOR TARP, 33 rpm RECORDS.
First, the Angels Donation Center on Needmore Lane has several walkers for sale, starting at $10. Go during open hours (see separate post and ask for Pricilla).
Second, at the Angels Boutique there is a never-opened package containing a tarp cover for a Cub Cadet tractor. The package does not have any more info than that. Interesting it did not say Cadet lawnmower but if it can cover a tractor…….it might be large enough.
Third, at the Angels in the Attic main store, there is a wide selection of records for sale. If you are a collector of, or just enjoy listening to your favorite music and songs on the old 33 rpm albums, you should visit the Angels store. We have a huge selection of 33 rpm albums ranging from country to jazz to classical and all types in between. Priced at 2 for $1.00

NEW SIGNAGE AT THE DONATION CENTER OF ANGELS IN THE ATTIC
There are 3 new signs installed at the Angels Donation Center which is located at the corner of Hwy 8 and Needmore Lane.
The signs were carefully considered by the volunteers, so as to be more helpful to people dropping off donations, to eliminate clutter around the front of the house, and to eliminate heavy lifting by the volunteers.
The first sign identifies the Angels Donation Center for people driving by on Hwy 8. The second sign, for those driving up, explains to load everything into the mini-barn, except furniture, and offers instructions to go to the lower (second) driveway for that. The third sign is posted on the door of the mini-barn and explains that no mattresses, car seats, or TV’s can be accepted. Mattresses cannot be recycled for health reasons, car seats for safety reasons, and TV’s (the tube types) for hazardous materials reasons.
Thanks to Hari Berzins for the photography, and to Andy Finn of Finngraphics for helping on the sign language, and doing the installation, while keeping the cost down. A local citizen also donated a portion of the expense.

Financials for Angels in the Attic
The CPA firm for Angels in the Attic non-profit has prepared a chart to simplify the financial statement for where the money goes for charitable purposes. Angels believes in full disclosure, as it is a local non-profit charitable organization, and local residents deserve to have full visibility.
You will notice from the chart that Angels has an extraordinary high percentage of its revenue, minus expenses, that goes to local charitable efforts. Sorry, we are like you, in that we cannot avoid paying utilities, insurance, or repairs and painting at the old Stores buildings in town, and at the Donation Center.
Please click once on the link below, and a second link pops up, so click on that link once and the spending graph will appear. Sorry for this inconvenience, but it is because it is a pdf file.

DON’T GO WITHOUT PANTS!
As of today, Ladies’ and Mens’ jeans and pants are half price. $1.00 per pair at the Angels in the Attic Store.
There is a large selection of colors, types, and sizes. What with more cold weather forecast, come on in to seek out some heavier fabric that will keep your legs warmer and prevent your teeth from chattering.
Also, please say “Howdy” to the volunteer ladies at the counter.
MARDI GRAS COSTUMES AND CLOTHING
Mardi Gras is approaching quickly. Rather than spending full price on a new selection, take a look at the many offerings in the Angels in the Attic Store (most of you know it is across the street from The Station on Locust). At Angel’s, you are likely to save 70%, 80%, or more on Mardi Gras items, than if you drove to the Christiansburg malls.

ANGELS IN THE ATTIC WISHES TO EXPRESS THANKS:
Floyd County Angels Ministries, Inc. (Angels in the Attic) has a core family of volunteers which keeps its ministry of service going with the help of store manager, Gennell Vest, Donation Center manager, Priscilla Whitlock, and a dedicated Advisory Board and Board of Directors. Anyone who has a heart for helping others is invited to be an Angel, just contact Gennell or Priscilla.
Thanks to the Odd Fellows Lodge for allowing Angels to use their building for the Christmas Store this year; also, appreciation to members of the Floyd County Woman’s Club for adding to the volunteer staff there.
The Donation Center is where it all begins as volunteers sort the items so generously given by you, the community. Thanks to Young Life for work done at the donation center and other service organization are invited to add Angels to their project lists.
Last but not least, those who shop at Angels stores are the final link in the chain of turning the donations into the funds that are shared with fourteen different food banks and service organizations in Floyd County.
The donation center is located at the intersection of Route 8 and Needmore Lane. Angels in the Attic and Angels Boutique retail locations are on Locust Street in the Town of Floyd beside the famous Floyd Country Store.
