Reminder: As always, please launder all clothing, as Angels has no laundering facilities. The same goes for rips or missing buttons, since there are no seamstresses on site.

ANGELS BOUTIQUE HAS SOME SPECIAL VINTAGE CHAIRS
The Angels Boutique has received these two donated chairs which are special. Come take a look! Usually, furniture is routed to the Angels Furniture Store, but these two were of unusual quality. The Angels Boutique is accessed by a separate door next to the Angels in the Attic Store.

ANGELS DONATION CENTER IN FLOYD MUST PAUSE ACCEPTING CLOTHING DONATIONS FOR AWHILE. SORRY.
All other items can be accepted at the Angels Donation Center on Needmore Lane in Floyd.
The clothing donations which must be paused includes those for men, women, and children.
The reason for this pause is a severe lack of volunteers at the Donation Center, which has resulted in a huge stack of clothing backed up waiting to be sorted. Clothing takes way more sorting time than any other donations, so it consumes the most volunteer time of the helpers at the Donation Center. Sorting furniture, pottery, lamps, tools, and everything else takes much less time so those can continue to be handled by the current volunteer staff.
Volunteers are welcome if they can show up as little as 2 hours per week. Or only part of one day per week. Or even on days that may vary from week to week. Or on one day per month. We are flexible. This severe lack of volunteers is mainly caused by all the disruptions of the pandemic, and the current disruptions in Floyd County as it is slowly coming out of the epidemic. This would be a great opportunity for young people now out of school to participate in community service!
If you would like to volunteer, you can do one of these things: 1. Stop by the Angels Donation Center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Fridays between 9AM and 2PM. Please knock on the door and be patient to get the attention of the volunteers. 2. Email Angels at angelsfloydinfo@gmail.com or 3. Stop by the Angels in the Attic Store in downtown Floyd and ask for the manager, or 4. Use Messenger on Angels Facebook Page.
The sole location for dropping off donations of all kinds, and for the Angels Furniture Store, is 112 Needmore Lane, Floyd, VA, which is located on the corner of Route 8 and Needmore Lane next door to the Harvest Moon Food Store. Donations can be dropped off 24 hours a day, every day. Most donations can be placed inside the minibarn storage building in the paved upper driveway. If left outside, the weather is most likely to damage them. Furniture donations can be placed on the concrete pad (under the overhang of the large building) located at the end of the lower gravel driveway which is just below the house, but it is preferred you do so during open hours of the Furniture Store on Fridays and Saturdays 9AM-2PM. By the way, the locations of the Stores in the town of Floyd are not set up to handle donations.

ANGELS BOUTIQUE HAS A BUNCH OF UNIQUE AND INTERESTING STUFF
Take your out of town visitors to the Angels Boutique to impress them with the many interesting items of memorabilia, jewelry, special clothing, pottery, glassware, and lots more. Let them know that Angels in the Attic is a nonprofit and that the sale of these donated items is money that goes back into the community’s charitable organizations.
In addition to the overview photo below, take a close look at the Flute, and the Godinger fruit basket.

NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR ONE SPECIFIC TASK AT ANGELS IN THE ATTIC STORE – TO UNLOAD THE VAN – TAKES ABOUT AN HOUR
A camper van shuttles merchandise from the Angels Donation Center to the Angels in the Attic Store, for restocking the racks and shelves. The van is loaded in stages, but the van must be totally emptied all at once, at the Angels in the Attic Store. The van contents are unloaded and moved a few feet into the rear of the store building. That is all there is to it. You would not need to volunteer for anything else.
The van unloading would occur approximately 1:00 PM in the afternoon on Fridays and Saturdays, and maybe at 11:00 AM on Wednesdays. You would only need to be available one of these days, or more.
To volunteer, or for more information, check with Gennell Vest at the Attic Store counter during open hours, or do a reply below, or send a private message with contact information.

OPEN HOURS BEING EXPANDED AT THE ANGELS IN THE ATTIC STORE AS OF FRIDAY, MAY 7, 2021
On Friday evenings, beginning May 7, the Angels in the Attic Store will be open until 6:00 PM. The open hours will become 9 AM – 6 PM. Saturday hours will not change from the present 9 AM – 2 PM. This store, as most of you know, is located next door to the musically famous venue at the Floyd Country Store in downtown Floyd VA.
A combination of a bit more availability of volunteers as vaccinations are now widely available, as well as a lot of patrons eager to shop on Fridays, are the factors behind this great improvement. Due to the number of people inside the store at any one time, it is important to continue wearing masks in accordance with the health experts at the CDC. Let’s keep the unvaccinated safe for awhile longer.
Open hours will not change for the Angels Furniture Store.

THE ANGELS DONATION CENTER IS OPENING BACK UP MONDAY APRIL 5, 2021
Also, the Angels Furniture Store will re-open for donations the following Friday April 9 during its open hours. Thank you to all Floyd County residents for holding back on dropping off donations during the latter half of March. It gave the volunteers in the Angels Donation Center and the Angels Furniture Store a chance to work off the huge backlog that had piled up to be sorted and processed and had jammed the working space.
As most of you know, both the Angels Donation Center, and the Angels Furniture Store are located at 112 Needmore Lane, Floyd, VA, which is located on the corner of Route 8 and Needmore Lane next door to the Harvest Moon Food Store. The minibarn is open 24x7x365 for you to place donations inside (except furniture and other large items, which need to be dropped off at the Angels Furniture Store during its open hours Fridays and Saturdays 9 AM – 2 PM)
There is one way that donors could help, a lot, to prevent a future backup in processing. Donations of clothing must have been washed, because the Angels Donation Center has no equipment for washing and drying. If clothing is torn or ripped, there are no seamstresses available among the volunteers to do repairs. The manager of the Angels Donation Center says this would be of great help to the volunteers.
Hopefully, when this Covid crisis is over, and people get vaccinated, then more volunteers would be able to help, and all the Angels stores could return to their prior schedule of more open days and more hours.
